This is a busy time of year for many people in Northwest Georgia, including the folks at the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Dave Roberson enthuses that his office looks forward to participating in the Treats Not Streets event to be held at the Rome-Floyd County Law Enforcement Center in downtown Rome on Halloween. Event attendees will have a chance to meet the office’s new K-9, named Waylon.
The Sheriff’s Office is also preparing for Christmas. Sign-ups for this year’s Sheriff Santa program begin next week, says Sheriff Roberson, who adds that he is thankful for the community’s support of this program that provides gifts to underprivileged children.
FCSO also teams with Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation to provide Sheriff Santa gifts for senior citizens.
Upcoming fundraisers for Sheriff Santa include a Car Show that will be held during Chili Fest at Ridge Ferry Park on Nov. 4 and a T-shirt sale. For updates, follow the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook.
