The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office is warning shoppers and revelers to be cautious this holiday season.
Sheriff Dave Roberson urges holiday shoppers at local stores and shopping centers to hide all valuables in their vehicles and lock their doors. Those who shop online and have items delivered to their homes are alerted to be wary of porch pirates. Everyone is encouraged by Sheriff Roberson to be aware of their surroundings during the holiday season and all year round.
Sheriff Roberson additionally warns holiday revelers – if you drink, do not drive. Law enforcement will be out in force to keep roads safe throughout the holiday season and into the New Year.
Along with its focus on public safety, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office has a commitment to community service. Sheriff Roberson and his staff members have spread cheer to local children and seniors via the annual Sheriff Santa program over this holiday season.
